Diploma in Fashion Design & Garment production Technology which is designed for those students who want to take up a creative career in clothing. Students need innovation design skills, exposure to the global fashion and design scene plus your own brand of creativity. This course is very unique because it combines practical workshops with intellectual studies in design, culture and latest garment technology. This holds great potential for employment opportunities in the rapidly expanding designer label, apparel retail brands, luxury brands and ready-to-wear fashion industry.

Aims and Objectives :

  • The aim of this program is to develop the investigative mind of the student, so that he or she can be in a position to produce innovative designs that are aesthetically pleasing.
  • It is important that a student acquires skills and languages ( inclusing techniques and processes ) needed to create , develop and present quality work.
  • Understand methods and priciples involves in art and design.
  • Identify and utilize primary and secondary sources.
  • See how different creative ideas are inter related and influence each other.
  • Explore practices linked to industry methods.

The Pedagogy (The teaching process )

  • The design process forms the core subject of Fashion design which is achieved through interactive class room lectures, demonstrations , Presentations , Industrial visits ,Craft documentation, internships and the annual fashion show.
  • Industry experts also form an important part of our Pedagogy as students are given industry linked lessons so that students are groomed to enter the industry.
  • Fashion marketing, branding and fashion management classes give the students an edge in the industry to be commercially viable and learn about the high fashion and retail formats.
  • Creating a proto type and achieving a proficiency in being able to deliver on time.
