A thing to consider is that there is a huge demand for experienced pattern makers. With hundreds of manufacturers entering the market by the day, the pattern cutter is the key link in the chain from machinist to designer. The old addage that most pattern makers can design, but most designers can't make patterns has finally been realised by significantly greater competition for skills in the market place. This has never been more obvious than now. Coutries like India and China teach pattern making at virtually every course, but in the USA, UK and Australia it's usually taught as a supplement. Hence why even if we wanted to manufacture in the West we lack the real skills of our third world competition thanks mostly to (and I'll be quite frank) arrogant and often racist Western curriculum writers that think their students are above factory floor skills.   • Shift dress with an 18” zipper , boat neck, facing and a lining .

  • Skirt development in terms of the flare, knife pleats, box pleats
  • Collar development and its variations
  • Sleeve development and its variations
  • Ladies classic dress shirt as per the measurements.

Semester 4

  • The Dior dress
